It was most likely developed, or at least refined, by W. Atlee Burpee in the late 1800's and is possible it is the same variety as Golden Detroit which was released by Burpee Seeds in 1970.\u003cbr\u003eLots of folks like this one for it's mild taste and because it doesn't \"bleed\" during canning.\u003cbr\u003eDon't forget the greens as they are also tasty.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBeet seeds are packed 1\/2 a teaspoon of seeds which is over 100 seeds. Packed in 4 mil heavy duty zip-lock baggies for protection of your seeds. All seeds are germination tested before listing. Store all seeds in a cool, dry place out of the light until ready to plant.
